Matte, Highly Pigmented, Long Stay Lipstick
Lipstick Base
Ingredients:
25g Naturderm C5
15g Shea Butter
5g Castor Oil
11g Candelilla Wax
8g White Beeswax
5g Stearic Acid
1 drop Vitamin E
Optional - For a waterproof lipstick add 5ml of Isododecane to the above mixture
Method:
To make a matte lipstick, melt 18g of the above base and add 2 to 3 teaspoons of an impact colour pigment.
To make 14 lipsticks, melt 48g of the base and add 8 teaspoons of the pigment blend.

Method:
- Sterilize all utensils, product containers, and workshop surfaces. Wipe utensils down with alcohol.
- Melt the waxes, butters and vegetable oils in a glass resistant measuring jug placed in a saucepan filled with boiling water (double boiler).
- If making the lipstick right away, whilst the waxes are melting, grind the pigments well in either a mortal and pestle or a coffee grinder.
- When the wax is almost melted, add the vitamin E.
- Once the waxes have completely melted, remove from the heat and remove the beaker from the saucepan.
- Pour into a heat resistant container to store for later use.
