Mascara
For sensitive eyes
The main components needed to make the Mascara are: Wax/Oil, Liquid/Gel, Pigment Blend, Plus empty mascara tubes and syringes.
Start off by making the oil/wax base, the excess can be stored for future use. Then follow parts 1, 2 and 3.
Oil/Wax Base
Ingredients:
Melt the Oil/Wax ingredients in a small heat resistant glass jug in a bain-marie or microwave. Put aside until needed.

Ingredients:
- 25g Jojoba
- 15g Carnauba wax
- 10g Beeswax
- 7g Stearic acid
- 1 drop Vitamin E
Melt the Oil/Wax ingredients in a small heat resistant glass jug in a bain-marie or microwave. Put aside until needed.
Part One – Wax/Oil Components
Ingredients:
- 6g of the above Oil/Wax base
- ¼ teaspoon Stearic acid
- ¼ teaspoon Ceteareth 20
- For Waterproofing, add between 5g to 10g of Isododecane - suggest 1 to 2 tsps.
Ingredients:
- 20g Seaweed extract
- 5 drops d-panthenol
- 5 drops Hyaluronic acid optional
- 5 drops Glycerin
Part Three - Pigments
Ingredients:
- 2 heaped teaspoons Black oxide
- ¼ teaspoon cosmetic grade Rice powder
- ¼ teaspoon Colloidal Oat powder - different from Oat Silk Powder
- ¼ teaspoon Silica
- Optional ¼ teaspoon Peacock blue mica
- Grind the above powders in a mortar and pestle or coffee grinder.
Method:
- Melt part one in a small pyrex glass beaker (I minute in the microwave approximately).
- Place part two in just boiled water
- When part one is fully melted, add part two and stir well.
- Add the grinded pigments to part one and two, immediately fill the mascara containers using a syringe.
