Pressed Eye Shadow
These natural eye shadows provide smooth application for a beautiful effect. Infused with Jojoba, Seaweed extract and Hyaluronic acid to nourish and hydrate the skin. The long lasting colours because it is made with a cream base, can be worn wet for a vibrant effect or dry for sheer pigmentation, offering a variety of gorgeous eye looks!
If using naturderm IL as your pressing medium, please read silicone and silicone alternatives for information about this wonderful ingredient!
Highly-pigmented powder. Applies evenly, blends well.
Benefits: Organic, Hypoallergenic, Great for very sensitive eyes.
To make pressed eyeshadow you need a pressing medium. Various pressing mediums can be used. Jojoba oil and isopropyl alcohol both work well as pressing mediums, however, I am not happy with applying isopropyl alcohol to my skin and pressed eye shadows made with plain jojoba oil have tendency to crumble easily.
The solution, I found was to make with a cream base. The advantage is that ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, vitamins and herbal extracts can be included in the eye shadow, making the product not just an eye shadow but a treatment product as well!
The following instructions are for pressing eyeshadows with the cream base into our 26mm eyeshadow tins. If you are using larger or smaller tins purchased elsewhere, then you will need to adjust the formulation and equipment accordingly.
You will need the following:
25g Easy Press Eyeshadow Filler
50g of Eye Shadow Cream Base or Naturderm IL
A few Sample Sizes (4g) of any of our Coloured Micas
A Pressing Kit
Tin Pans 26mm
Go Pods
1 x 40 - 50ml mixing vessel (glass pyrex)
Set of measuring spoons - 1/2 tsp to 1 tsp.
1 palette knife

Tin Pans 26mm
Go Pods
1 x 40 - 50ml mixing vessel (glass pyrex)
Set of measuring spoons - 1/2 tsp to 1 tsp.
1 palette knife
- To make your first tin, take 1 teaspoon of our coloured mica and ¼ to ½ teaspoon of the easy press eyeshadow powder filler and mix well together.
- Mix the above 1 tsp. of your finished mineral eye shadows with ¼ to ½ tsp. approximately of the cream or Naturderm IL until you get a texture like “wet sand”. You will need to practice until you get the right consistency.
- Place the “sand” into a 26mm tin pan, over fill it and smooth with a palette knife, place a piece of lace on top and press with a pressing tool.
- If the sand sticks to the lace, then it is too wet, this is very easy to correct, just tip the contents of the tin back into the mixing vessel and add the rest of your finished eyeshadow powder and mix well.
- I personally find its best to press eyeshadows in one take and not layer as you see on "youtube" videos.
- If the eye shadow is too dry after pressing, then this is very easy to correct, just tip the contents of the tin back into the mixing vessel, add a tiny amount of cream or naturderm IL, mix and press again.
- The eye shadow then needs to cure for 24 hours before adding to your Go Pod.
- 1 ¼ teaspoons of product should fill approximately two to three 26mm tins.
- Each tin takes approximately 1.5g of product.
